My first venture
My parents owned a property with a nice amount of land. Since they didnt do much with it, my father encouraged me to find a way to make a profit off of it. We already had some family and friends that would park their camper and trailer on the grass behind our house over the winter. There for it was a clear place to start. When I was still in grade 6 I started drawing plans to find ways to optimize the use of the land. Every day, I would come back home and discuss what could still be improved and the cost to build the facility. When I was in grade 11 (2019) that we were able to put everything into motion. With a lot of help from family and friends, we put in 1/2 an acre of gravel, 8 foot tall fencing, automatic gates and video surveillance.
Fast forward to 2022, there is now 1 acre of gravel, 60 outdoor spots, 10 covered parking, 6 shipping container and 8 sheds. It is still only a part-time endevor. As I am still a student and doing stages at engineering companies. Despite this, every possible weekend, holiday or day off I spend it at the storage facility to maintain, improve or add on to it. I'm driven to constantly provide better services for my customers.
Over the years, I've built a great relationship with my customers, and I take pride in providing them with a clean, secure and well-maintained facility. I often receive positive feedback and referrals from satisfied customers. Which is a testement to the hard work and dedication that I put into the business. With the many challenges that I have faced it has been a great learning opertunity. I learned valuble skills such as marketing, customer service, business analysis and finance.
I'm excited to see where this business will take me in the future and I look forward to continuing to grow and expand my storage facility. Limoges Self Storage
